Laurie Briggs has studied music and played piano most of her life. She taught for almost 20 years at her home in Long Valley, NJ, before moving to the Lehigh Valley four years ago. She resides in Bethlehem with her husband and two beloved dogs, Billy and Elsa, an enthusiastic audience for her piano playing!
Outside her passion for the piano, she can be found volunteering with a reading program in the Allentown School District, singing with her church choir, and with the Lehigh University Choral Union. She loves tackling a tough crossword puzzle or new recipe, and spending time in the Poconos with family and friends, fishing and enjoying nature.
She is so happy to be returning to teaching piano. Her strengths are with the beginner and intermediate student, teaching proficiency through technique and music theory. Laurie considers music a great joy, and brings that to her students. She has a lot of experience with young children, but is happy to engage with students of any age.
