Nick Herzing is a bassist originally from St. Marys, PA. He began playing at age 14, teaching himself by listening to bands like Motörhead and Primus, who served as early inspirations. During this time, he learned various techniques such as fingerstyle, picking, slapping, and tapping. Herzing attended Kutztown University, where he majored in Commercial Music and studied under renowned jazz bassist Scott Lee.
His professional career began at 15, performing for local theater productions, playing in pit bands, and backing local musicians. While at KU, he served as a member of the award-winning Rock Ensemble 1. Since 2023, he has worked with Windish Entertainment as a live amusement park musician. In addition to live performances, he has also recorded four EPs for singer-songwriters Lanie Altmiller and Grace Heinlein. Joining the Lesson Center in February 2025, Herzing’s teaching style draws from a range of genres and methods, tailored to each student to inspire a deep love for music.
